Russia opposes permanent UNSC seats for Germany, Japan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov opposed adding permanent seats in UN Security Council for Western countries, particularly Germany and Japan. “We are in favour of broadening the representation of Asia, Africa and Latin America. We support Brazil and India’s candidature,” he said. Lavrov had earlier said that UNSC does not reflect today's global balance.
