Russia President Putin releases US teacher held since 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin said 74-year-old US schoolteacher Stephen Hubbard, held in Russian custody since 2022, was freed from prison on Wednesday. Hubbard was arrested in Ukraine’s Izyum, where Russian prosecutors alleged he manned a Ukrainian military checkpoint. Trump confirmed the release in a Truth Social post, saying the US was not required to give anything in return.
