Russia removes commander in Syria amid rebel offensive: Reports

Russia has reportedly removed its commander in charge in Syria, General Sergei Kisel, amid the ongoing offensive by rebels, led by the radical group Tahrir al-Sham. Russian troops deployed in Syria have suffered "significant" losses and "hundreds" of Russian soldiers are missing, Ukrainian intelligence said. Russian President Vladimir Putin is a key ally of his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad.
