Russia signs deal to build 1st nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Thursday signed an agreement to build the first nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. Both countries also signed a joint agreement to expand cooperation in the oil industry. Kazakhstan's nuclear organisation had earlier said Russia would contribute about 85% of the $15 billion cost for the nuclear power plant.
