Russia to block Telegram app over refusal to allow spying

Russia has filed a lawsuit to block the Telegram messaging app in the country as the platform refused to give access to its users' encrypted messages. Russia's FSB Federal Security Service claims it demanded access to the messages primarily to prevent terror attacks in the country. Telegram had refused to comply with Russia's demands, citing respect for user privacy.
