Russia warns Japan over US Typhon missiles near Far East

Russia warned Japan of 'compensatory countermeasures' over the US Typhon missile system's planned deployment during Orient Shield exercises (Sep 8–24). Moscow called the activity near its Far Eastern borders 'categorically unacceptable.' The system can fire Tomahawk cruise missiles with a 1,600 km range. Around 3,700 troops from Japan, the US, and Australia will participate.
