Russian, Syrian warplanes bomb parts of Aleppo amid rebel takeover
Russian and Syrian warplanes bombed parts of Aleppo after rebels from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham took control of most of the city in an offensive, reports claimed. Syrian military sources said nearby towns also came under air attack, forcing 14,000 people to flee. Russia has been fighting at the side of troops loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad since September 2015.
