Russian central bank proposes banning use, mining of crypto

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CBRF) on Thursday proposed banning the use and mining of cryptocurrencies on Russian territory. CBRF cited threats to financial stability, citizens' wellbeing and the country's monetary policy sovereignty as reasons for the proposed ban. The bank also proposed preventing financial institutions from carrying out any operation with cryptocurrencies.
