A Russian RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile likely failed during a test earlier this month, Reuters reported citing arms experts and satellite imagery from the launch site. Satellite images from September 21, 2024, show a crater about 200 feet wide at the launch silo, Reuters added. The crater and damage around the area weren't visible in imagery from September 7.
