Russian Opposition leader found guilty of embezzlement

A Russian court on Wednesday found Opposition leader Alexei Navalny guilty of embezzling £4,00,000 (around ₹3.3 crore) in a re-trial, barring him from standing against President Vladimir Putin in next year's presidential election. Navalny was first convicted of the fraud in 2013. Navalny alleged that the charges are politically motivated to keep him out of the 2018 Presidential elections.
