Russians vote in first parliamentary elections since Ukraine war began

Russians have begun voting in the country’s first parliamentary elections since the Ukraine war began. The polls will elect members of the lower house of parliament, the State Duma. President Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party is expected to retain control of the State Duma. Yabloko, the only party opposed to the war in Ukraine, was barred from contesting the elections.
