S Arabia & Thailand restore full diplomatic ties after gem dispute

Saudi Arabia and Thailand agreed to restore full diplomatic relations on Tuesday after a jewellery theft dispute over three decades ago had led to former downgrading ties. The two countries have also agreed to strengthen economic relations. Saudi Arabia had downgraded ties after a Thai janitor working at a Saudi prince's palace in 1989 stole jewels worth around $20 million.
