S Korea unveils record ₹56.76 lakh cr budget, aims to boost semiconductor industry

South Korea has proposed a record 821 trillion won (₹56.76 lakh cr) budget for 2027, with priority given to next-generation semiconductor infrastructure. While ₹1.47 lakh crore is allocated to strengthen chip manufacturing, ₹17,958 crore will be allocated to a special semiconductor budget. The historic spending increase is possible due to a windfall from the country’s semiconductor industry.
