S Vijayadharani resigns as Congress MLA in Tamil Nadu, joins BJP

Three-term Congress MLA S Vijayadharani left the party on Saturday and resigned as Tamil Nadu MLA. She joined BJP in the presence of Minister of State L Murugan, who has the responsibility of overseeing preparations for Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu. Vijayadharani, who's a lawyer and ex-President of state Mahila Congress, claimed women aren't given leadership roles in Congress.
