World number six and top seed Saina Nehwal progressed through to the semi-finals of the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold after beating Sayaka Sato 13-21, 21-15, 21-14 in Basel on Friday. She will now face Wang Yihan in the semi-finals on Saturday. India's HS Prannoy defeated Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand 21-18, 22-24, 21-19 to progress through to the Men's semi-finals.
