Saina won Olympic bronze after 'winning' opponent retired

Saina Nehwal became the first Indian badminton player to win a medal at the Olympics, after clinching the bronze medal at the London Games on August 4, 2012. The then 22-year-old won the third place playoff after her opponent, then world number two Xin Wang, who was winning 21-18, 1-0, retired because of an injury in the second set.
