The princely state of Bhopal was ruled by Muslim women, known as the Begums, for 107 years. The last Begum, Kaikhusrau Jahan, transferred power to her son, Hamidullah Khan. His daughter, Sajida Sultan, came to power. Interestingly, she is connected to Bollywood as the grandmother of actors Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan.
