Sakana AI withdraws research paper its AI scientist generated

Japanese AI startup Sakana withdrew a research paper that its AI scientist bot had generated. The paper was accepted at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) workshop. Apart from writing, the bot is capable of generating its own research ideas, running experiments, analysing data, and drafting manuscript. The paper had to be withdrawn over transparency issues.
