Saline soil leads Punjab woman to explore shrimp farming

Saline soil and waterlogged fields in Punjab's Inna Khera village led Rupinder Kaur to explore shrimp farming as an alternative. After attending training courses and workshops, she started the venture with support from a 60% subsidy under PMMSY and loans from a bank. She now produces 6-10 tonnes of shrimp per acre annually, selling the produce in markets including Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai.
