Sam Altman-backed World raises ₹500 crore for deepfake detection

Sam Altman-backed World has raised $52.5 million (over ₹500 crore) through a private WLD token sale led by Pantera Capital. The funds will expand its World ID network and Orb devices to combat deepfakes and verify humans online. The firm says it has 39 million app users and has verified over 18 million people using its iris-scanning technology.
