Samajwadi Party names RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary for Rajya Sabha polls

Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party (SP) on Thursday named Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary for Rajya Sabha polls as its third candidate. "Jayant Chaudhary will be the joint candidate of Rajya Sabha from SP and RLD," SP tweeted. This comes after Kapil Sibal, who quit Congress, filed the nomination for Rajya Sabha on Wednesday with SP's support.
