Wankhede's father sees FB ad, orders dry fruits, loses ₹31,000

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede's father, retired ACP Dnyandeo Kachruji, was duped after ordering dry fruits on a mobile number seen on a Facebook advertisement. He paid ₹2,000 to the scammer through UPI. When he wanted to cancel the order, the scammer asked him to enter a code on a given link. After complying, ₹31,019 was withdrawn from his bank account.
