Samsung, labour union hold talks to avoid 45,000-worker strike

Samsung Electronics and its South Korean labour union began another round of government-mediated talks to resolve a deadlock over wages and bonuses and avoid a potential major strike. Around 45,000 workers could go on strike, raising concerns over disruptions to chip production and global supply chains. The labour commission said differences are narrowing and an agreement remains possible.
