Samsung, SK Hynix to invest $518 bn, build 4 new chip factories in S Korea
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will build four new semiconductor fabrication plants as part of an 800 trillion won ($518 billion) project in South Korea to meet the country's rising AI demand. Under the project, both firms will build two plants each in South Korea's southwest region. The project comes as part of the country's decade-long $650-billion semiconductor plan.
