Samsung overtakes Apple to regain global top spot in smartphones

Tech major Apple slipped from the position of being the world's biggest mobile phone seller after a steep sales drop, as per the International Data Corporation. South Korean tech giant Samsung regained the global first position. Samsung had been the biggest seller of mobile phones for 12 years until end 2023, when Apple overtook it with its iPhone sales.
