Sanju, Abhishek register first 50+ opening partnership in a T20 WC final

India batters Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson registered the first-ever 50+ opening partnership in a T20 World Cup final. The duo reached the 50-run mark in four overs during India's T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand on Sunday. They surpassed the previous record of 48, set by Pakistan's Kamran Akmal and Shahzaib Hasan in the 2009 final.
