SAR Geelani, convicted and then acquitted in Parliament attack case, dies

Syed Abdul Rahman Geelani, who was sentenced to death by a special court but later acquitted by Supreme Court in the Parliament attack case, died on Thursday following a cardiac arrest. Geelani, who used to teach Arabic at Delhi University's Zakir Husain Delhi College, is survived by his wife and two daughters. He was also charged with sedition in 2016.
