Sarvam AI to build India's first AI foundation model

The government announced that Sarvam AI, a homegrown startup, has been selected to build India's first indigenous AI foundational model. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Sarvam AI was shortlisted from 67 proposals and mentioned that 2-3 more startups will soon join the programme under the new Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme.
