Satellite pic shows dense smog over northern India

A picture from NASA's Worldview shows dense smog over parts of northern India, a major cause of which is stubble burning by farmers. Earlier, Union Environment Ministry doubled penalties for stubble burning. As per new rules, farmers with below two acres of land will have to pay ₹5,000 fine and those with over five acres will pay ₹30,000.
