Saudi Arabia marks nearly 300-yr-old 'Founding Day' for first time
Saudi Arabia held celebrations on Tuesday to commemorate its foundation nearly 300 years ago for the first time. The celebratory events included musical performances on Saudi modern history and fireworks, local media has reported. February 22 marks the anniversary of the day in 1727 when Mohammed bin Saud, who was founder of first Saudi state, took over emirate of Diriyah.
