Saudi battalions defeated by slipper-wearing Houthis had 80% soldiers only on paper
Iran-backed Houthis defeated Saudi-backed pro-government forces and captured strategic port city of Mocha in Yemen on Thursday due to severely depleted Yemeni battalions. The actual strength of army was only about 20% of what it was on paper, reports said. Their rosters were filled with “ghost names” receiving salaries. The Houthi fighters, who mostly wear slippers, were seen celebrating later.
