Savarkar was first to advocate two-nation theory: Shashi Tharoor

Speaking at Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Friday said that Veer Savarkar had advocated for the two-nation theory, three years before the All-India Muslim League passed Pakistan Resolution in the Lahore Session in 1940. "As head of Hindu Mahasabha, he (Savarkar) had called upon India to recognise Hindus and Muslims as two separate nations," Tharoor added.
