Savita, 1st Indian woman to climb Mt Everest & Makalu in 16 days, dies in U'khand avalanche

Savita Kanswal, first Indian woman to climb Mount Everest and Mount Makalu in 16 days, was among those killed when an avalanche struck a group of trainee mountaineers and instructors from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi on Tuesday. The 26-year-old was an instructor at the institute and had scaled Mount Everest and Mount Makalu in May this year.
