SBI collected ₹235 cr as minimum balance fine in 1st quarter

SBI has realised ₹235.06 crore as penalty from 3.88 crore accounts for not maintaining monthly average balance in the first quarter, an RTI query revealed. However, the bank has not revealed the categories of accounts on which the fine has been levied. An RTI official has appealed to SBI to review its policy in the interest of poor account holders.
