SC asks Centre to form tribunal to settle TN-K'taka river dispute

The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the Centre to constitute a tribunal to settle the dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over sharing of water flowing from the interstate Pennaiyar (Dakshina Pinakini) River. Tamil Nadu has accused Karnataka of controlling water flow of the river that originates in Karnataka and flows through Tamil Nadu before draining into Bay of Bengal.
