SC asks retired judge panel to review cartoons in NCERT books

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed a retired judge panel to review cartoons in NCERT books and check whether they are proper and suitable for school children. This was followed by multiple petitions objecting to certain illustrations, especially in political science textbooks. Several organisations have criticised them for being politically biased and disrespectful to national leaders.
