SC confirms life term for Saravana Bhavan owner in murder case

The Supreme Court today upheld the conviction and life imprisonment awarded to the owner of Saravana Bhavan restaurant chain, P Rajagopal for murdering his employee Ramaswamy's son-in-law in 2001 to marry Ramaswamy's daughter. Rajagopal and five others were accused of the murder. Sessions court sentenced them to 10-year imprisonment, but it was enhanced to life sentence by Madras High Court.
