SC directs man to give ₹5 crore to wife, says 'Alimony shouldn't penalise husband'

The Supreme Court has directed a man to pay a one-time settlement of ₹5 crore as permanent alimony to his wife upon the dissolution of their marriage. The Court noted that the permanent alimony amount should be decided in such a manner that does not penalise the husband but ensures a decent standard of living for the wife.
