SC dismisses Mahua Moitra's plea on AIF, FPI ownership disclosure

The Supreme Court dismissed TMC MP Mahua Moitra's plea seeking SEBI's mandate for public disclosure of ultimate beneficial owners of AIFs and FPIs. A bench of three justices ruled the Court cannot create a new regulatory framework under Article 32, as no existing law requires such public disclosure. SEBI confirmed no such framework currently exists.
