SC dismisses petition against Jauhar scene in 'Padmaavat'

The Supreme Court of India today dismissed the plea of social activist Swami Agnivesh seeking deletion of the Jauhar scene from the film 'Padmaavat'. The bench said it cannot direct the makers to delete scenes once the film has been cleared by the Censor Board. Agnivesh had accused the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film of glorifying the practice of Jauhar.
