SC dismisses plea against sculpture atop new Parliament building

The Supreme Court dismissed a PIL alleging that the lion sculpture atop the under-construction Parliament in Central Vista violates the national emblem's design. "That impression depends on the mind of the person (seeing it)," said the bench. Petitioners had contended that the lions appeared "ferocious and aggressive" with their "canine visible" unlike the "calm and composed" original.
