SC extends deadline for conducting elections of 5 city corporations in Bengaluru

The Supreme Court on Friday extended the deadline for conducting elections across five city corporations in Bengaluru to December 2026. The court passed the order after it was informed that Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was underway in Karnataka and rolls will be finalised in November. It had earlier set August 31 as deadline for completion of elections.
