SC extends time till Aug 31 for holding Bengaluru civic body polls

The Supreme Court on Wednesday extended deadline to complete Bengaluru civic body polls to August 31, as against the earlier date of June 30. Karnataka State Election Commission (SEC) had sought extension citing exhaustion of resources due to overlapping timelines of Census and Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Bengaluru has been without an elected civic body since September 2020.
