SC flags surge in airfares during festivals, cites Kumbh mela

The Supreme Court has flagged the surge in airfares during festivals and high-demand situations, citing the example of 'Kumbh mela'. Stating that it'll "definitely interfere" in the matter, the Supreme Court asked the Centre and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to file their replies. The court was listening to a PIL seeking guidelines to control the surge in airfares.
