SC gives Assam 2 weeks to justify foreigner declaration of 5 women

The Supreme Court has granted two weeks to the Assam government to defend its orders declaring five women as illegal foreigners. The court had paused the deportation of the five women while it reviews their appeals against the orders on June 5. The Gauhati High Court had earlier rejected pleas filed by the women against the Foreigners Tribunals' order.
