SC issues notice to Centre on plea seeking immediate ban on alcohol sales in tetra packs

The Supreme Court has issued notices to Centre and other authorities on a plea seeking immediate prohibition on sale of liquor in packaging such as tetra packs and sachets. This comes after the top court declined to entertain PIL challenging UP's policy permitting country liquor to be sold in tetra packs and advised petitioner to first approach the state government.
