SC issues show cause notice to NCERT Chairman over 'corruption in judiciary' section in book

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a show cause notice to NCERT Chairman and Secretary of the Department of School Education over "corruption in the judiciary" section in Class 8 Social Science textbook. CJI Surya Kant imposed a blanket ban on production and distribution of the book. He also directed NCERT to effectuate immediate seizure of the book from schools.
