SC lifts stay on 2015 sacrilege cases against Gurmeet Ram Rahim

Supreme Court has lifted the Punjab and Haryana High Court's stay on proceedings against jailed Dera Sacha Sauda leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the 2015 Bargari sacrilege cases. A Bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan issued notice on the Punjab government's plea challenging the stay. The cases involve the alleged desecration of Guru Granth Sahib in Bargari.
