SC pulls up Maha govt over pollution at Ulhas, Waldhuni rivers

The Supreme Court on Thursday pulled up the Maharashtra government for failing to check water pollution at Ulhas and Waldhuni rivers. According to CPCB and NEERI's report, water samples collected from both rivers showed 'substandard treatment mechanism' and 'violations of water pollution norms by industries over the years'. The bench directed the state to implement recommendations of the report.
