SC questions Centre over medicine price markups, says hospitals can't survive via 'dacoity'
The Supreme Court on Tuesday questioned the Centre over the wide gap between the maximum retail price (MRP) of medicines and the price at which retailers purchase them. It stated that hospitals could not justify steep medicine markups by citing operational costs and said they could not survive through "dacoity". "Don't weigh patients against commerce," the court added.
